    Small cellar with a nice ambience in front of the half-timbered house. There is a good snack and hot food to eat. Priced very cheap. Very good beer from the local Sauer brewery.

      The beer brewery of the Sauer brewery has been idyllically situated under trees for over 100 years. Until recently, the fine barley juice was stored in oak barrels in the tunnels reaching deep into the mountain. Beer from our own brewery is served under shady trees, a lager, a brown beer (both on tap), as well as a pilsner beer, wheat, and the tasty original brew.             Shady beer cellar in Rossdorf with beer from the Sauer brewery, delicious cakes, snacks and vegetarian/vegan dishes.

            In order to make beer last longer, it was stored in rock cellars and cooled with ice from the 16th century. So-called summer cellars were built in Franconia around 1800. These were mostly built over the existing rock cellars of the breweries. A cellar house was built above the entrance to the beer cellar. The cellar house in Roßdorf was built in 1913-14 and is a listed building.

                          On the outskirts of Roßdorf, directly on the bike path, lies the Felsenkeller. A beautiful, typical Upper Franconian cellar, especially perfect for a relaxing break on hot summer days, enjoying the finest snacks and a tasty Roßdorf beer. The value for money is more than fair! Also worth mentioning is the exceptional friendliness and courtesy of the entire cellar staff.
