Location and history: The Lindenbach, on the upper course in the Talgraben forest, on the lower course called Lachengraben after Besen, is an almost 11-kilometer-long right-hand tributary of the Glems in Ditzingen in the district of Ludwigsburg in central Baden-Württemberg.
The source of the Lindenbach is around 476 m above sea level. NHN near Solitude Castle in the area of the state capital Stuttgart. It initially flows through the forest as a valley ditch in a north-easterly direction through the Linden Valley to the eastern outskirts of the Weilimdorf district. There, in front of the western part of the Lemberg ridge, it turns briefly to the west and then to the northwest to the substation south of the Grünen Heiner.
The Lindenbach drains an area of 26.6 km². The source and the first part of the upper reaches to the north-east are, from a natural spatial point of view, in the sub-area Glemswald-Rip Heights of Schönbuch and Glemswald. It then runs through the sub-area of the southern Strohgäu edge of the Neckar basin up to the bend near Weilimdorf, with the creek bordering the sub-area of Feuerbachbucht in the Stuttgart Bay in places to the east. After changing to a westerly to north-westerly course, it crosses into the lower Langes Feld area of the Neckar Basin before Ditzingen.
Hidden and known only to the locals, the Lindental, affectionately called the "Lindentäle" by the people of Weilimdorf, winds its way into the "Augenwald" in the south-west of Weilimdorf. Tarred paths and natural meadows attract not only cyclists but also skaters.
The Lindenbach has its source in the forest area, and the "Hörnleshas" spring, the so-called "Hasenbrünnele", is also located at the end of the open valley on the edge of the forest. It's always an experience for children, this little brook springing from under an old tree has a certain magic... If you hike a bit into the forest, you'll also come across a few last ruins of the former Dischingen Castle
