    It's a beautiful, narrow trail through hilly terrain along the Glasowbach stream and the adjacent marshland. The most beautiful section is between the trailhead at the motorway south and the rest area at the Glasowbach stream north.

            "The Baruther Line" is a regional hiking trail in Teltow Fläming. It is 48 km long and marked with white / red / white.
            It starts in Blankenfelde / Mahlow, continues via Rangsdorf, Zossen, Am Mellensee and ends in Baruth.

            Today I hiked the first 2km without realizing it. But already after the first kilometer it was clear to me that I would hike it section by section in the near future.

                  It begins directly south of the motorway - the nature trail along the Glasowbach. A pleasant, narrow path that leads hikers along the Zülow Canal through hilly terrain. With the canal always to your right, you go up and down over the small sand hills - a hiking rhythm that never gets monotonous.

                  The path leads through different forest areas: in some places pine trees tower up and spread their resinous scent, in others the forest opens up into a lively mixed forest that shimmers in different colors depending on the season.

                  The path has a special charm, especially in winter. When snow covers the trees and paths, the landscape becomes a quiet, almost meditative environment, even if the signs are not visible.

                  Small rest areas invite you to take a break. Here you can linger for a moment, let your gaze wander over the Zülow Canal or simply enjoy nature.

                        Dear hikers,
                        as a former Rangsdorf resident, I can only advise you not to take a break on this nature trail in June, the mosquitoes will eat you alive. I also cannot recommend the trail for cycling (except for young mountain bikers). In other months it is an interesting trail.
