The Colossi of Memnon are two ancient Egyptian colossal statues from the 14th century BC. They are near the Valley of the Kings in West Thebes in what is now the city of Luxor. Originally, the Colossi of Memnon stood in front of a pylon marking the entrance to the temple of Amenhotep III, a pharaoh of the 18th dynasty of the New Kingdom.
