Information on the history of the church can be obtained from the pastor of this parish. In 1428, Skrzeszew was given by prince Witold to the bishops of Łuck, to whom the village belonged until the end of the 18th century.
In 1660, King Jan Kazimierz established two fairs in Skrzeszew: the first on the fourth Sunday of Lent, Laetare, the second on St. Michael on September 29. He also freed the village from taxes for four years due to war damage.
The parish in Skrzeszew was established in 1446. At that time, the first wooden church of st. Stanislaus. In the years 1705-1733 a baroque church with rich interior fittings was built, funded by the Nurse carpenter, S. Godlewski. In the 16th and 18th centuries it became a famous Marian sanctuary in Podlasie. There were a number of healings and miracles recorded in parish books. In 1837-40 the church was rebuilt in the Classicist style by the owners of the estate, the Obniski family. At that time, a four-column Ionian portico, designed by Gołoński, a student of Kubicki, and two side chapels, were added to the body of the church [5]. The next renovations were carried out in the second half of the In the 19th and at the beginning of the 20th century, the belfry and towers were damaged during World War I [4].
