Classified as a historical monument since 1964, it has housed many exhibitions since it opened to the public, which vary over the years. Whether you are passing through or roaming, treat yourself to a visit and enjoy the exceptional panorama from its height.

For centuries, Saumur has breathed to the rhythm of its castle. Visible for miles on its rocky peak, this fortress is like the castles of our storybooks and our fairy tales.

Castle-palace of the Dukes of Anjou in the 1906th and 1906th centuries, the Château de Saumur, where King René stayed, is the last example of the princely palaces built by the Valois dynasty.
