Master carpenter Michael Fuchs from Wunsiedel had the idea to build a chapel made of larch wood with a bell tower in 2005. After initial difficulties, the location was selected, building permit was granted by the Wunsiedler city council and sponsors were enthusiastic about the project. The building was built in 2007
and the inauguration was celebrated with an ecumenical devotion.

The devotional site St. Josef is a small privately funded, built of larch wood and equipped with beautiful art glass windows chapel from the year 2007 on the Markus-Zahn-Allee in Wunsiedel (Göringsreuth).
