    The refuge on top of Europe's highest grass mountain has stood here since 1891. You'll be amazed when you see how many cyclists and mountain bikers on a sunny day have taken the hard climb and enjoy the great panorama on the hut terrace. The refuge is open from Pentecost until mid-October. You can get information about the hut at Tel. +43 6542 74438

      The Statzerhaus is a refuge that has always been open. With solar on the roof, even the EBike can be charged. But you have to bring the charger yourself. The view is on.

                        Even though it may not be a rustic alpine hut, the Stratzerhaus offers outdoor seating with a magnificent view, especially when the weather is good!
                        The climb up here is tough, but you can also get some good food here.

                            “A charming throwback to the century before last – unfortunately, without the charm.”
                            If you're looking for a journey back in time to an era where service was either surly or nonexistent, this is the place to be. The house feels old and is in desperate need of renovation.

                            The landlady? She offers witty remarks for tourist groups, while for locals, she's more likely to offer the acoustic equivalent of hospitality: silence. Or ignoring them.

                            The prices are as high as the Hundstein itself, but unfortunately, without the view. Conclusion: Perhaps an experience for masochistic visitors – everyone else should just walk past the Stazerhaus.

                            Only the view is beautiful.
