The Kitzlochklamm is about 1.5 km long. A visit is expected to take around 1 ½ hour. There is a large parking lot right at the entrance to the gorge, which is also suitable for buses. The Kitzlochklamm is open from Mother's Day to mid-October. You can find the exact opening times and entrance fees on the Kitzlochklamm homepage.

The Kitzlochklamm is the gorge of the Rauriser Ache which flows into the Salzach. The many small waterfalls, bridges and bays make the Kitzlochklamm a very special natural spectacle on the edge of the Hohe Tauern National Park. In the gorge you can either do the circular route, which takes approx. 1 ½ hours, or you can extend your hike and also visit the Maria Elend Chapel in Embach (approx. 3 hours walk).

The Kitzlochklamm is also a "highlight" for climbers. A modern sports via ferrata offers experienced climbers the opportunity to get to know the Kitzloch Gorge from a completely different perspective. The via ferrata is approx. 300m long and not suitable for inexperienced climbers. Expect to spend 2-3 hours for the ascent.

An absolute MUST is the Klamm & Klang torchlight hike through the gorge. If you are in the vicinity of Taxenbach on one of the dates, we can warmly recommend the torchlight hike with musical accompaniment.

Towering, rugged rock faces, idyllic bays, an impressive hermitage and the spectacular bridge make the gorge one of the most beautiful in the Austrian Alps. The hike through the gorge takes about 1.5 hours. It is open daily from Mother's Day (beginning of May) to the end of September.
