The Höhenburg is located on a hill of the Hoher Fläming on the southwestern edge of the district town of Bad Belzig in the Potsdam-Mittelmark district in Brandenburg. The hill on which the castle is located is called Bricciusberg. About 50 meters southwest of the castle is the small St. Briccius Church and an extensive forest.

High above Bad Belzig stands the more than 1,000-year-old Eisenhardt Castle, which marks the beginning of the castle tour. The well-preserved fortress now houses, among other things, a farm shop with a café and a hotel. The medieval Eisenhardt Castle is on the north-eastern section of the Burgenwanderweg in Hohen Fläming. From the keep, also known as the butter tower, you have a wonderful view of the landscape. In the year 997 the castle was built for the first time by Emperor Otto III. mentioned. The Torghaus with cell vaults, local history museum, cistern and fountain are particularly worth seeing. There is also a gastronomic facility for hikers in the castle courtyard.

The castle is in a very good restored condition. Unfortunately, the hotel in the castle is closed and is looking for a new investor. There is a highly recommended, small café with a chocolate shop in the courtyard.

We reach the castle and first go to the church of St. Briccius, a brick church first mentioned in 1361.
Unfortunately, this is closed.

With the mighty castle in front of us, we go through the gate.
First mentioned in 997 and converted into a hunting lodge from 1477, we first go to the local museum.

There are various exhibits from the castle, town and region from the past.
We also learn something about the Kolbenschlacht in the Liberation Wars on Hagelberg in 1813, just a few kilometers away.

We go out again, enter the courtyard and look at the keep and the courtyard side of the castle buildings.
The sun is shining now.

It is narrow up the tower to a height of 28 meters.
On the floors, we read some information boards.
At the top, we are rewarded with a view over the town and the landscape.
