There are not many opportunities to get to the shore on the eastern bank, but if you can, it is very beautiful. There are many water birds there, including grey geese, grey and great egrets and various ducks, such as tufted ducks.

The Herrensee is a small natural paradise. Although I also circled it by bike, I would recommend it to hikers because of the nature of the paths (mud, tree roots).

There is a very nice loop around the lake. The path is easy to walk. In “normal” summers, however, only with mosquito repellent.
On the edge of the lake there is also the Strausberg forest.

From the S-Bhf. Hegermühle can be easily reached after a short hike through the forest. The lake is on the 66 lakes hiking route and on the Way of St. James in Poland.

Everything is related to everything: sinking water level in Straussee and extremely dry summers mean no water in Annafließ, mean a sinking water level in Herrensee. Result: siltation.

You can hardly get to the water, but the 4 km around the lake are a small and fine route, with lots of forest and absolute silence. Only the birds and the wind can be heard.

The Herrensee has meanwhile mutated into a pond after years of no more inflow via the Anna Fliess. As well - the level of the Strausssee has silted up for a long time!!!
