The MTB route in Schoorl is one of the top five best MTB trails in The Netherlands. It's a single trail loop, you can start and stop anywhere you like. You will need a MTB to ride the trail, city bikes are a no go. During summer it can become physically hard because of loose sand, fat tires help. When there has been rain the ground is more compact and the trail is faster. I typically ride the loop in 50 mins. Beautiful scenery through dunes, woods and open terrain. Although technically and physically demanding in places it can be ridden by beginners. Because of the sandy terrain you're less likely to get injured in case of a fall compared to mountain trails (i.e the Alps). Popular by Dutch mtb riders, it can get busy during the weekend with riders from all different levels. Be polite and giving way to faster riders is appreciated.
