From the Almsee you hike on a forest road to the fork in the Sepp-Huber-Steig / Grieskarsteig. There you follow the W214 the Sepp-Huber-Steig to the foundation walls and continue on the insured steep climb up to the Röllsattel. Then over Karrenfelder towards the southwest to the vulture's nest, a striking rock face. There you meet the Ausseer Weg, which leads in a south-westerly direction to the Pühringer Hut.
You should plan around 4 hours for the 1,000 m altitude difference from Almsee.
