          The dwarf cave, also known as the dwarf hole[1] or dwarf hole[2], is a 97 meter long crevice cave in the Schlossberg below the castle ruins of Hollenberg, south of Hollenberg in the municipality of Pegnitz in Franconian Switzerland.[3][4] The Dwarf Cave is registered as D 87 in the Franconian Alb Cave Register (HFA). Its entrance is at 509 m above sea level. sea level.[5] To the east below the dwarf cave is the cooling hole near Hollenberg (D 157), a cover cave that was created by a collapse.

          The dwarf cave has two entrances and is mainly formed by two parallel and interconnected crevice passages. In the northern and western parts of the cave there are other branches, some of which are narrow.[6]
