      Here you can combine a nice little hike with good food: from Köppchensee once along the Tegeler Fließ to the west, past the horse stables of Lübars to the Holzstegweg, this northwards directly through the Eichwerder moor meadows, at its end again eastwards along the Fliess back to Köppchensee. About 9 km. At the last crossroads (where the path turns south towards the lake), take the path northwards and in a few minutes walk you will reach the "Normandie" restaurant (signposted). Good french cuisine.

        Very nice place to rest and enjoy peace. Immediately on the Berlin Wall Trail near the Tegeler river. When the weather is good, it's nice to have a drink, but still worth a visit

                                    Peat was mined here in the middle of the 19th century. After mining ended, it was a rubbish dump from 1920 until the wall was built. The area is now a nature reserve with several biotopes that exist side by side and have very different moisture levels. Everything from lakes to dry grasslands is represented. Many rare animal species live here. More information at:
