The oldest border stone is the Kurfürstenstein, a coat of arms stone from 1513. It has stood on this border for almost five hundred years, today separating Thuringia from Bavaria, but once separating the Bishopric of Bamberg from the Electorate of Saxony. During the GDR era, it marked the inner-German border.

Extremely rustic log cabin on the former border strip.
The inside of the hut is about 4x2.5m with an additional meter of space on the veranda. Inside there are benches all around as well as a large table, which in its solidity fits very well with the appearance of the hut, but also takes up a lot of space.

Shortly below ("southwest"? In the direction of Dobergrund), after 50 to 100 meters, a brook flows to the left next to the Kolonnenweg. Or you follow the path down to the valley for water. That could be interesting for overnight stays.
