The Schervenzsee belongs to the municipality of Siehdichum. The name alone reveals a lot. Yes, it is worth looking around here! The clear and calm bathing lake is idyllically embedded in the forest and is decorated with water lilies in some places. An enchanted path leads around the Schervenzsee. On the shore you meet anglers and some people row across the lake. Affiliated is a campsite on which many long-term campers have their little houses or mobile homes under pine trees. You can get to the campsite and the lake by bus. However, this does not run very often.

The Schervenzsee is a lake southwest of Schernsdorf in the Schlaubetal Nature Park. The 'campsite at the Schervenzsee' is located on the north bank. There is a nice circular path around the lake.

Attention: The area of the campsite may only be entered by authorized persons. Visitors and hikers have to pay a (small) fee.

We start from the car park, near the former copper hammer, take the path towards the Schervenzsee and after a few steps we enter the forest.

Around us the singing of birds and a sea of blueberry plants, the fruits are already edible.

The path is churned up by the rain of the last few days, the sun shines through the trees.

The Schervenzsee lies idyllically quiet in front of us, we see an abundance of dragonflies, some of them connected in the mating wheel.

Following the course of the lake, we circle halfway around it, accompanied by the loud calls of a cuckoo.

The Schervenzsee is around 20 hectares in size and a maximum depth of nine meters. Many activities can be done here, e.g. B. by renting stand up paddle boards, water pedals, boats or bicycles.

When you reach the Schervenzsee, you immediately feel the peace that surrounds this idyllic lake. The narrow path winds through the dense forest, accompanied by the gentle rustling of the pine trees and the chirping of the birds. After just a few steps, you are immersed in nature, which seems almost untouched here. The lake lies quietly before you, its banks partly covered with water lilies, which gives the whole thing an almost fairytale atmosphere.

The circular path around the lake offers surprising views again and again, sometimes through the dense foliage of the trees, sometimes through a small clearing that reveals a view of the glittering water. Anglers sit quietly on the bank while a few brave rowers glide gently across the lake. The dragonflies dance over the surface of the water, and every now and then you see a heron standing on the bank.

It is a place that invites you to slow down - ideal for a break on one of the many small benches along the way. The campsite on the north bank brings a breath of life to this oasis of peace, but the character of the Schervenzsee as a place of retreat is preserved here. Anyone looking for peace and quiet will find exactly what they expect from a lake in the heart of the Schlaubetal.
