The three Dornburg castles rise on a limestone rock above the Saale valley. Goethe already appreciated the atmosphere of this unique castle ensemble. The old castle can be found east of the park and is the oldest castle.
In the west is the renaissance castle built for a manor, later called Goethe Castle. A landscape garden in front of the renaissance castle and a garden with rose arbor at the rococo castle combine the ensemble into a picturesque unit. You can park your car above the park and explore the area on foot.
