After the Rudbjerg Knude Fyr (the Knude) was moved inland on October 22, 2019, , the preservation of this landmark is assured for the time being. As a child, I was able to experience the times when there were 5 outbuildings next to the tower, one of which housed a café in the 80s of the last century. (see picture 22 of Druck) The movement of the shifting dune forced the buildings, where the beach is now, to be gradually abandoned. However, these were not demolished; instead, the roofs were opened so that the sand could find its way without causing the walls to collapse. The passage of time at Rubjerg Knude Fyr is impressively reflected in the oil paintings by the Løkken painter John Christensen, who can also be seen briefly in the video, which can be admired in his studio (komoot.com/de-DE/highlight/1973094?ref=ihd) and which have been and are being expanded almost every year.

With a little skill, you can even get close to the tower on a wet day on your mountain bike without getting off, which in my case was initially due to the fact that I didn't have a lock with me. After all, the goal was to climb the tower, which fortunately is now officially possible and free of charge. Before the turn of the millennium, I had to do this secretly at the old location using the creaking original wooden staircase and pallets I found at dusk, when a broken window seemed to be within reach... ;-)
