Fog accompanies me until midday on my journey home on the fourth day. From Breisach, the cycle path mostly runs directly along the Rhine, alternating between paved and gravel sections.

Almost summery temperatures at midday, I enjoy the last part of my journey.

Wonderful weather on the third day of my trip. For the first half of the stage, I follow the Rhine-Rhone Canal. At Rhinau, I cross the Rhine, miss a turnoff, and have to struggle for several kilometers over wet, rocky paths until I reach the bike path again. The rest of the route leads, mostly over fine

The route on the second day leads from Colmar via Selestat and Erstein to Strasbourg. I try to cycle off-road, a strenuous undertaking. Some sections of the path are in very poor condition and several dead ends make progress difficult. I reach Strasbourg in sunshine and enjoy a pleasant evening.

On the first day of my tour, I cycle from Basel to Colmar. The route leads through the Petite Camargue Alsacienne via Kembs, mostly on gravel paths along canals and through forests.

In Eguisheim, I take my time to explore the beautiful town and enjoy a local beer – my destination for the day, Colmar, is now not far away.

The last leg of my tour this year; tomorrow I'll be heading home by train.



I'm traveling through the hilly Holstein Switzerland region via Bad Malente to Eutin, where I'm enjoying good food and local beer. I'm spending my last evening of this tour in Lübeck, enjoying the perfect weather.

Today I'm driving to Plön in the Holstein Switzerland region. The sun is blazing – lots of traffic on Kieler Hafenstrasse. After a delicious fish sandwich and a cold pilsner at the harbor, I'm glad to escape the hustle and bustle and head towards my destination for the day, the "Lange Wisch" campsite in Ascheberg.

A hot day is already forecast for the morning. Today's route initially leads through much of the forest. Near Eckernförde, I reach the Baltic Sea.



Cycling steadily along the fjord, I arrive at the Kiel-Falckenberg campsite in the early evening.

Perfect weather accompanies me on my journey toward Rendsburg, where I leave the Kiel Canal and drive into the Hütten Hills. In the evening, I spend the night at the Waldseehof Ahlefeld campsite near Lake Bistensee.

Another stage along the Kiel Canal. After 20 km, my tablet's battery is empty, so I continue recording the rest of today's tour on my phone.
