    The Krämerbrücke is one of the oldest buildings in Erfurt and is one of the city's most famous landmarks. It is built on both sides with half-timbered houses and spans the Gera. It connects the Benediktsplatz in the old town center with the Wenigemarkt, which lies at the eastern end of the Krämerbrücke.

                One of the city's landmarks is the Merchants' Bridge, the longest continuously inhabited bridge in Europe.

                The Merchants' Bridge is Erfurt's most interesting secular structure.
                It was originally built of wood and then of stone in 1325.

                Originally, the 120-meter-long Merchants' Bridge was built with 62 narrow houses,
                which were later consolidated into 32. Of the two former bridgehead churches at either end of the bridge, the eastern St. Aegidien Church still stands today (impressive tower view, Tues-Sun 11 a.m.-5 p.m.).
                On the Merchants' Bridge, there are galleries and small shops selling Thuringian blue-print fabrics, hand-painted ceramics, Lauscha glass, jewelry, wood carvings, and, among other things, Unstrut wines, inviting visitors to linger and discover the history.
