Ribeauvillé itself is worth a visit. However, you should also plan a hike to the three castles of Ribeauvillé. They are picturesquely located in the immediate vicinity above the village and the hiking trails there are also very beautiful.

The picturesque old town of Ribeauvillé is characterized by half-timbered houses and numerous buildings from the 16th and 17th centuries. Dominating medieval monuments are the parish church of St.-Grégoire-le-Grand and the Tour des Bouchers (butchers' tower -- both from the 13th century). The town is dominated by the three castle ruins of Ulrichsburg, Girsberg and Hohrappoltstein (Château de Saint-Ulrich, Château du Girsberg, Château de Haut-Ribeaupierre).

The place is beautiful and picturesque. The colorful, candy-colored houses with the many flowers on the window sills are unparalleled. Unfortunately, the gastronomy in the pedestrian area of the city center has degenerated into a tourist trap.
