Many inhabitants also in Spessart emigrated in the 19th and 20th centuries because of the bad economic situation in the United States, including Konrad player.
His brother Peter wanted to visit him a few years later and got into a heavy storm on the high seas. He promised, if he were to be saved, to build a chapel. In 1853, the chapel was built on a path between Heimbuchental and Volkersbrunn.

Beautifully situated in a meadow and beautiful view. The chapel itself is unfortunately closed, but there are not only outside some seating, also the front attachment is open and offers rain protection if necessary.

From Kapellenberg near Heimbuchenthal you have a fantastic view far into the valleys of the Spessart and its heights. Here she, the “Lady of the Mountains”, stands under a mighty chestnut tree. The name has its justification, as the field chapel offers a glimpse of the majesty of nature.

A wonderful place to unwind. Everyone has to collect their own impressions here ... if the weather is nice, just let a little time pass there!

Chapel Mistress of the Mountains in a large "clearing" with a beautiful view over the mountains of Heimbuchenthal. There are just 2 aisles that are not occupied by the forest.
It is also the end of the Way of the Cross, which begins at the end of the Chapel Path.

The "Mistress of the Mountains" chapel stands under a mighty chestnut tree, with a view of the beautiful Spessart forest.
The story of the "Mistress of the Mountains" chapel is very moving. Due to the poor economic situation in the Spessart between 1750 and 1950, many Spessart residents emigrated. Popular destinations in the 18th century were southeastern Europe and in the 19th and 20th centuries the United States in America. Konrad Spieler from Heimbuchenthal also lived there. When his brother Peter Spieler (1797-1869) wanted to visit him in America, his ship got caught in a dangerous storm on the high seas. Peter Spieler vowed to build a chapel if he was rescued, which is what happened. In 1853, Spieler applied to have a chapel built on the path between Heimbuchenthal and Volkersbrunn, the "Mistress of the Mountains" field chapel.
It is believed that the name was chosen because of the beautiful panorama
