Here you can reach the remains of the Asseburg if you hike it from the Bismarck Tower.
It is also worth mentioning that the stamping point for the northern Harz foreland (my HAVO / my Harz foreland) is located here. However, the stamp probably got into the hands of souvenir hunters.
Following the path you come to the largest remnant of the castle.

The castle was built between 1218 and 1223.
It was the largest hill fort in northern Germany and was considered impregnable.
The remains of the wall can still be seen in the high forest on the ridge.
Anyone visiting the Aces should not miss this place.
