From the car park at the Waldhaus zur Asse, the hike leads between Rothenberg (220 m) and Watzenberg (222 m) up to the source of the Rothenbach.
This approximately 5 km long stream flows into the Altenau near Klein Denkte.
The still water is reached shortly afterwards.
It is worth taking a short detour to this pond biotope to enjoy nature.
After about half of the hike, you reach the Asse II mine with its associated information center. From here, the hike leads along the Schwarzer Weg back to the starting point at the Waldhaus zur Asse in Wittmar.
