Is an idyllic place and is near Hahnenklee.
Hiking trails are signposted.
A small piece of the path led directly along the road, which wasn't that bad, because there is a beaten path and you don't have to go directly on the busy road.

The Kranich watercourse is a historic water transfer tunnel in the Upper Harz. It was created in 1878 and is 590 meters long. Its task was to transport water from the Kranicher ponds via the Herrenwieser Graben to the lower rafting pond in order to make it usable for the ore mines and stamp mills in Bockswiese.
But before the water got into the Kranicher watercourse, it had to travel a long way. It may have first come to earth as precipitation in the area of the Schalke summit. Then it flowed down the slope in a small stream and was taken up by the Oberen Schalker Graben. In it, the precious water awaited an almost nine-kilometer journey around the Schalke and the Großer Kellerhalsteich as well as past the Grumbacher Teiche and the Than-Teich, to finally be used by Hahnenklee to drive a water wheel.

An idyllic single trail leads to Kranicher Graben near the Kuttelbacher Teich.
Before the Kuttelbacher Pond was built, the dammed water from the Kranicher Teiche was led directly to the pits in and around Bockswiese through the Kranicher Graben.
