The Wittelsbach Tower near Bad Kissingen has two freely accessible viewing platforms. The upper platform can be reached via a very narrow spiral staircase.
At the foot of the tower there is a geodetic point where you can check your GPS transmitter.

It is one of the Bad Kissinger monuments and is registered under the number D-6-72-114-168 in the Bavarian List of Monuments .

Even in winter with minus degrees it is a nice destination. Only on the last part uphill you should be careful in winter when it is snowing as it can lead to rapid sleigh rides (which is of course also very worth seeing)

The Wittelsbach Jubilee Tower is 33 m high in total, the viewing platform is at a height of 25 m and thus around 245 m above the Saale valley, which can be overlooked from the tower. A lion wearing a crown is attached to the top of the tower. The tower is built from shell limestone, but the lion as well as the portal, the parapet and the dome are made of green sandstone.

From 1930 onwards there was also a restaurant next to the tower. However, the first restaurant, built in log construction, burned down in 1933 - probably after arson. It was replaced by a solid structure in the same year. Extensive renovations and extensions followed later, including a brewery and a hall.
