The name "flow trail" is a bit misleading! It is undoubtedly a beautiful trail, but not a "flow trail" designed for mountain bikers in the true sense of the word.
Quite the opposite! It is a hiking trail that is particularly popular at weekends and with families. It should therefore only be ridden with due caution and consideration.

The path to the Wichtelhöhlen is of course a very beautiful path. There are many old stands of beech trees, hardwoods and wet forest habitats here, in which a huge variety of species can be found.
The path is located within the core zone of the "Batzenleite" nature reserve of the UNESCO Rhön Biosphere Reserve. Core zones are special types of nature reserves and there is a strict path rule here. Hiking and mountain biking or cycling is only permitted on designated paths.
