Puerto de la Cruz is a city on the north coast of Tenerife, the largest of the Canary Islands belonging to Spain. It is known for its dark volcanic sand beaches and the extensive Loro Parque Zoo, which is located in the west of the city. Along the coast is the Lago Martiánez outdoor pool, which was designed by the architect César Manrique. In the old port there is a 17th century customs house and the Batería de Santa Bárbara, a historic fortification from the 18th century.

Puerto de la Cruz (short Puerto Cruz), the eighth largest municipality of Tenerife, is the tourist center of the island north coast. Together with the eastern neighbor municipality of La Orotava, the western Los Realejos and other places, the city forms an agglomeration of about 140,000 inhabitants. Puerto de la Cruz is located southwest of the capital Santa Cruz de Tenerife and is connected to it by the north freeway TF-5.

The municipality has an area of 8.84 km² and is located at an average height of 9 meters above sea level in the Valle de la Orotava.
