The Reformed Church is a masterpiece of late Baroque architecture in the Bergisches Land. It was built between 1766 and 1771 on the foundations of the previous building, which probably dates back to the 13th century. The 50.50 m high tower was not completed until 1775/76. The nave is 24.50 m long and 18.22 m wide. Inside the church, eight columns with Corinthian capitals support the boldly curved galleries that run around three sides. Above the communion table is the pulpit, which is richly carved.

Due to the general reluctance of Reformed congregations towards church music, the Cronenberg church also received an organ late. However, the installation of the current Ibach organ, completed in 1853 and resting on four massive columns, changed the interior of the church considerably. The sounding board that extends into the church is decorated with the large figure of the "trumpet angel" with an open Bible in his hand.

The tower, which was destroyed by lightning in 1888 and whose "lantern" has 154 steps leading up to it, was rebuilt with cast-iron spiral staircases instead of wooden ones. In 1914, the organ and the interior of the church were extensively renovated. Since then, the new continuous balustrade of the gallery has been decorated with Art Nouveau elements. With its galleries, the church now has around 700 seats.

"The Reformed Church is a Bergische preaching church, based on the model of the Old Reformed Church from 1690 in Elberfeld: The church is equipped with galleries on three sides in order to accommodate as many worshipers as possible. From the outside you can see the back walls of the side galleries behind the large windows. The " "Principal pieces" are arranged vertically one above the other: The communion table stands on the floor, above it on a pillar is the pulpit, and the organist has to climb one floor higher to the organ, the casing of which reaches up to the ceiling of the hall. In the interior design, the pulpit was placed exactly in such a way that that the preacher can be seen from all places (and that he can see all parishioners from the pulpit, unless someone is hiding behind a gallery pillar). In other Bergisch preaching churches such as in Radevormwald, the entire structure is uniform kept in style.

The Cronenberg church, on the other hand, was furnished in several attempts: in 1771 it received the magnificent late baroque pulpit including the sound cover and crown. At that time, the presbytery (like the Reformed congregation in Elberfeld) rejected an organ with the argument that the congregation should sing loudly. It was not until 1853 that a second-hand organ was installed, so that the baroque pulpit appears squeezed between four classical columns. The continuous balustrade of the gallery dates from the beginning of the 20th century and is reminiscent of Art Nouveau, and therefore the interior is a decorative ensemble of different styles."
