With its four breweries, Aufseß is the world record holder for the highest density of breweries per inhabitant. In the brewery restaurants you will receive a brewery trail hiking pass. Have your brewery trail hiking pass stamped when you visit the four brewery inns and you will receive a certificate as a thank you for your visit and as a reminder that you are a "Franconian beer connoisseur from the world champion breweries". Round trip 14 km - walking time 4 hours

We went the way in winter. It was wonderful in nature and with sunshine and lots of snow.
Unfortunately, two breweries had closed due to renovations.
Nevertheless, this path is always worth it: nature, delicious beer, good food, excellent value for money and nice people.

Since the hype surrounding the brewery trail was so great and the behavior of some thirsty hikers was intolerable, the municipality of Aufseß has already considered closing the circular trail and no longer advertising it. It would be a real shame. But here you can see what alcohol does to (some) people. I think if you know your limits or your level it should be a fun venture to follow the famous trail 🍻
