The Brauereigasthof Krug is located in Franconian Switzerland on the old trade route between Nuremberg and Bayreuth. Beer has been brewed in the Krug family brewery in Breitenlesau since 1834. A total of six types of beer are produced here, as well as an amber cyclist and a Gaas-Seidla. The specialty of the house is the dark lager, which is valued not only in Upper Franconia, but far beyond, and of course you drink it. So I could enjoy the beer on one of my hikes in Merano on the Passer promenade.

You shouldn't expect a small or beautiful beer garden. There are better ones. There is a lack of green, as you are basically sitting next to the brewery. However, there is nothing wrong with eating and drinking.

Motorcyclists, cyclists, hikers and much more meet here.
The brewery is located on the 16 km long Brewery Trail. The Kathibräu and the Reichelbräu are also in the immediate vicinity. If one of the restaurants is closed or crowded, you can find a place in the neighborhood (the distances aren't that great, especially with a motorbike or bicycle).
By the way, the Krug also has a popular disco as a unique selling point.
