The path from Breisach to here is freshly paved. Further to the south compacted gravel. Since the Rhine is dammed near Breisach, the water is very close to the path here.

From Niffer it is better to choose the Homburg Ottmarsheim cycle route to Munchhouse - the route driven here is cumbersome and sometimes narrow, bad forest paths from the junction with the Rhone/Rhine canal, as well as a large detour because later along the canal from Baldersheim it was impossible to get through.

It's beautiful to cycle along the Rhine, but it's quite a long journey. I'd recommend heading north rather than south, as the climb is constant there, which is quite tiring 😉.
