From this tower you have a fantastic view over the Rhine-Main plain. In clear weather you can see as far as Darmstadt and further.
Climbing the tower is not for everyone. The landings are all covered in gratings, and when you walk up the tower starts to sway slightly. You notice it even more at the top of the platform. We like that :-).

Steel observation tower on the Kapellenberg. When visibility is good, you can enjoy a 360-degree panoramic view. From the Großer Feldberg over the Frankfurt skyline to the Spessart, the Odenwald and the Rhine Graben. To the north, the view extends into the Lorsbach valley as far as Eppstein, to the west you can only see as far as the next hill with Langenhain. At the foot of the tower is a restaurant with a beer garden and playground.

Addendum Feb. 2025: From summer 2025, the forest restaurant at the Meisterturm will be closed and demolished. A new building will then follow. It remains to be seen whether and how the tower will then still be accessible or accessible. In any case, construction site traffic must be expected.
The restaurant has a website, by the way. You can find out there exactly when they will close.

Please note:
While the steps up to the platform are made of closed, corrugated sheet steel, i.e. are opaque, the platform itself is completely covered with gratings, so you have an unobstructed view into the depth! Possibly a problem with fear of heights, it cost me overcoming.
In the wind (or sadistic jokers) the tower sways!

For me one of the most beautiful viewpoints in the region. The very filigree steel construction and the very narrow spiral staircase are something special. The view of the Taunus, Frankfurt, the Odenwald, etc. is terrific.

Forbidden for children under 10 years. I don't know why, maybe the railing is too low or too strenuous to get up there.

But it's a long climb with a sensational view (if it's not cloudy). Nothing for Vertigo, as once you get to the top you can see all the way down. Quite windy up there. But feels stable.
