    This small, open shelter on the idyllic Weinbachspring is almost completely dug into the slope, and the lower part consists of masonry rubble. In the hut there is a table, benches and a white cloth sky.

      The Weinbachspring is the spring of the Weinbach in the Martental, which is also listed as a natural monument. Just 400 m below this spring there is another one, the Grimmeisenbrunnen, which is also very photogenic! The Weinbach is about 7.9 km long and flows into the Marlach near Meckenheim.

      I don't yet know exactly how this works with the Geißbock and Eselsweg, but they seem to overlap in part. In any case, it is more fun to walk on paths right next to the flowing water than on forest highways.

                            The Weinbachspring is the dammed spring of the Weinbach River. It is classified as a natural monument and is located in the Martental valley of the Palatinate Forest, within the forest area of the Palatinate rural town of Deidesheim.
                            The spring was dammed after 1906, and a shelter was built next to it. It is open, constructed of brickwork and has a wooden beam roof.
