    The Clara Hut, at 2,038 metres in the rear Umball Valley, can be reached in two to three hours from the Ströden car park via the Umball Falls. It is located right at the foot of the Rötspitze. Friendly hosts and good food (the hut owner is a chef) invite you to visit.

        The lovingly self-made information signs down in the valley already suggest it: the hut stands out from the crowd. The location is of course wonderful in this wild glacier valley, but the innkeepers are special: super friendly, the cake was outstandingly delicious, the cappuccino as good as in a cafe. Everything was made with a lot of passion and love - I will have fond memories.

          Redesigned, now reasonably avalanche-proof DAV hut of the Essen section in Umbaltal. The power supply was also redesigned using a hydropower plant.
          Starting point for climbing the Dreiherrnspitze and the Rötspitze.
          The hut tenants also offer a great menu for the numerous day visitors.
          The cheese dumplings are amazing.

            Great hut built into the mountain. The bedrooms are completely new. The hut is really rustic inside. The host couple are very helpful, friendly and the food is top notch.

              The newly built Clarahütte has its own hydroelectric power plant to provide electricity. This is also where you will find the stamp box for completing the Iseltrail stage.

                Very nice hut. Great food. If you want, you can go from here (according to Rother hiking guide) for about 1 hour to the mega glacier view 😉

                  Great hut, friendly and very nice hosts. We stayed here overnight on our Iseltrail hike. Top and really rustic, with singing together with guitar accompaniment after dinner.
