The foundation of the manor happened with the colonization of the place "Irfersgrün" between 1200 and 1250.
Since May 21, 1805, the manor has belonged to the "von Arnim" family. The last owner since 1920 was Baron Sigurd Alom Erik von Arnim. In 1945, after the end of the war, he was taken to an internment camp on the island of Rügen, where he died of pneumonia. The manor was divided among landless farmers in the course of the land reform in 1945.

It was later a state-owned estate (VEG) and a training center for combine harvester drivers. Today, the Irfersgrün manor, which is under monument protection, is a popular destination for every visitor who feels transported back to the manor in the time of the old knights.
