The Westphalian Riding and Driving School is a training facility for professional riders in Münster. In 1997 she moved to a new building in the east of Münster in the district of Handorf. The Westphalian Riding and Driving School in Münster was founded in 1922. It was founded and managed by Count Brockdorf-Arlefeld in the years 1922–1925. The first location was near the current Halle Münsterland. This was destroyed during the Second World War. Since 1948 the school in the former horse barracks on Steinfurter Straße had good training opportunities again. There was a large riding track (25 × 65 m), another riding track (20 × 40 m), a lunging hall and stables with 80 boxes as well as a riding and jumping area. With its location within the barracks, it was almost completely shielded from the surrounding traffic.
A specialty was the “jump garden”. It was built around three sides of the jumping area and completely fenced. This also made it possible for beginners to practice the seat over the jump without concentrating on riding the jumps.
