The canal is ideal for swimming and sunbathing in summer and is very popular due to its proximity to the city. The cycle path along the canal is a real highlight with beautiful views and little challenge. Have fun!

The Dortmund-Ems Canal connects the North Sea with the Ruhr area as an artificial waterway together with navigable sections of the Ems. Here the R1 crosses the channel. There is also a class bike path along the canal to the north.
