We've come this way a few times on our hiking trails in the natural heritage and on the viaduct hiking trail, but the hammock was always occupied. The view also really invites you to linger. Maybe us too, next time we come back.

We love this region very much. The hikes are recommended. But parking spaces are poor in the Durbeketal, there is often trouble with farmers who also use the single-lane road. This is sometimes dangerous for cars. Some mirrors have already been knocked off. Illegal parking on the road is not recommended. There is too little space to move around!! Our tip: it is better to park up in the valley (1st Durbeke car park) and not directly at the Wald-Haus (Am Hammer 18), as it is simply too narrow for vehicles, bicycles, hikers and traffic. Just drive 400 m further past the houses into the valley, it is easier to park there and there is no stress. And it is nicer there too. You have a wonderful view of the forests. LG Kira
