The Sondernheimer Ziegelei was founded in 1834. Only in 1976 came the end for the brickyard, which was the longest working brick factory in the district. Today, the brickworks and the associated field railway system is refurbished in accordance with the monument and, in addition to a restaurant, is home to a museum about the history of the brickyard.

Opening hours:
Every 1st Sunday of the month from April to October 10am - 3pm

Ticket prices:
Group guided tours with final field train ride: 5 € per person (groups of 15 or more people)

Field railway: 1.50 € per person from 4 persons on the Museum Sundays

The brick factory is a nice change on the cycle path from Germersheim in the direction of Wörth am Rhein. Storks nest here and the beer garden looks very inviting.

Nice location right on the Rhine with kiosk and coffee. Here you can relax and watch the ships on the Rhine. The brickworks museum is of course also worth a visit. Opening times: Every 1st Sunday from April to October, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
