The Bodenbacher Drees, in the valley of the Bongarder Bach, is one of the many carbon dioxide springs in the region. The enclosure is carved from a single block of volcanic tuff. It is not known when and by whom it was framed. The only thing that is certain is that the Romans already used such healing springs. When drunk fresh, the carbonated water is an excellent way to regulate digestion. The locals also appreciate their "Drees". The water is regularly checked by the health department of the Vulkaneifel district.

Since 1996, a ring of basalt columns has protected the lower-lying spring from flooding during high water. In the summer of 2015, the mineral spring was renovated by the industrious group of pensioners from the local community of Bodenbach. Further information is available on site at the information board.
