The 48 bends of the Stelvio Pass are a must for anyone who likes racing bicycles in the Alps. Dodge the traffic by driving at dawn - who starts at sunrise in the summer, can look forward to a great experience that he has to share at most with a handful of like-minded early bird.

The 48 hairpin bends of the Stelvio Pass from Prad are an absolute “must” for every racing cyclist and an experience that is second to none!

The difference in altitude of a good 1800 meters is of course not without, but the route is only moderately steep and therefore easy to drive at the right speed. This leaves enough time and leisure to properly admire the spectacular mountain landscape! It is a special experience to venture out of the lovely Vinschgau with its apple orchards all the way to the high alpine region of the pass.

If you want to really enjoy the experience, we strongly recommend that you get up early for it. Those who start with the summer sunrise at 5 or 6 o'clock in the morning have the road almost to themselves - neither the exhaust plumes nor the medieval rattle of the combustion engines of the “auto” -mobile faction will be missed in the slightest!
