Pike Place Market is Seattle's original farmer's market, founded in 1907. The market is the center of locally sourced artisan and specialty foods, lots of shops, restaurants and bars. It is recognized around the world and attracts thousands of visitors each year. It is a great place to explore and is one of the best places to people-watch in the city. Check out the wildly entertaining fishmongers slinging salmon while you are here.

The Pike Place Market has been around for over 100 years, making it the oldest continuous public market in the US. Although quite touristy in the meantime (like almost all markets), it is nevertheless a lively and colorful place that has up to 40,000 visitors daily (the show of the fish vendors is part of the business).

Currently, he has received an extension of around 4,000 m2, consisting of public terraces, restaurants and market stalls, which turn to the water side and skilfully put the beautiful waterfront of the market in scene. This is one of the first projects to revitalize the Seattle Waterfront and was awarded by the American Institute of Architects (as of August 2019).
