The Danube, which had been straightened in 1971, was dismantled over a section of 1200 m and moved to its old bed. This relocation and the creation of near-natural structures such as islands and bays resulted in a strong ecological upgrade, the structural quality and flood protection were significantly improved. Costs amount to just under € 1.3 million.
