Built in the 14th century as part of the 785 m long city wall. It was the gate tower of the mountain gate, one of 3 city gates. The mountain gate was demolished in 1758 and the tower was now used as a prisoner tower. Through the small hatch in the prison door, relatives had to provide the delicacies with food themselves.
