Want to get there? It's a very relaxed way: from Odeonsplatz through the Hofgarten, then under the underpass straight into the English Garden. Past the Chinese Tower, and before you know it, you can hear the sound of the waves. A fine tour, far from the hustle and bustle of Prinzregentenstraße.

So now we're standing there, at the Eisbach wave. This spectacular phenomenon is more than just water pouring over a stone. It's a feat created by the combination of the amount of water and the artificially created stone step. The resulting standing wave attracts surfers from all over the world, but be careful - there are stone blocks lurking beneath the surface that can be dangerous, especially for inexperienced surfers.

For spectators, it's an experience to see the surfers skillfully dance on the wave. A short, intense ride on the half-meter-high wave, right in the middle of Munich. As a Munich resident, you are always happy to enjoy this unusual sight, but it is also a must for visitors. If you have the courage and skill, you can try out the board yourself - but always with respect for the wave.
