Despite hours of searching, I didn't really find anything about the pond, so I found all the more about the adjoining Seehof restaurant (formerly Erkenshof). In my opinion, the lake (pond) is artificially created, because there is no inflow or outflow to be seen. The inflow will probably be underground from the reservoir above and the outflow will flow into the Broichbach in the same way. Up to here everything is my assumption and without guarantee. I have never heard or read a real name for the pond. In the vernacular it was always called Kahnweiher, Angelweiher or Titisee. For several years it has been a really nice leisure facility. This is where the "Unteres Broichbachtal" nature reserve begins.

The Broich Bach is a body of water that has been flowing for centuries, which contributed significantly to the formation of the Broichbachtal between Broich settlement and Herzogenrath and which also led to early human settlement. Numerous mills contributed to the livelihood of the population living here and shaped nature and life. Today the Broichbachtal recreational area with a total size of 86.4766 hectares is designated here.
