The foundations for the formation of the Binner Gorge were laid by nature as early as the Ice Age. The gorge is a dry valley between the Nienburg-Meppener Geest and the Weser. Coniferous and deciduous trees grow in the gorge. Meanwhile, a stream also flows through the Binner Gorge.

The Binner gorge is an idyllic meltwater incision in the Geest above the Wesermarsch. It begins in the beech forests on the outskirts of Binnen and ends a few hundred meters further down at the brick bridge of route 219b Nienburg-Liebenau. Worth a visit, especially in autumn.
