The Drakenburg Church is very nicely located, perhaps a bit out of the way, but the visit to Drakenburg begins with beautiful pictures.
Beautiful old houses at Burgmannshof and the beautiful Renaissance archway.

Go on a small pub crawl through Drakenburg, beautiful beer garden in "Ephesus am Weserwehr", in the "Auszeit" there's ice cream and lovingly prepared delicacies and with the "little thing" a breathtaking view of the Weser with a beach.

If you walk or drive through the archway, there is a room with seating and a table on the right. Snacks and cool drinks can be purchased there. Helpful, but you only see that when you "enter" the manor.

In the Middle Ages, where the manor stands today, there was a three-wing castle complex owned by the von Rommel, von Rantzau and von Behr families. This, like almost the entire area of Drakenburg, fell victim to the flames in 1627 during the Thirty Years' War. The defenders of Nienburg burned down the nearby Drakenburg - in order to deprive Tilly's approaching imperial troops of accommodation options. In 1648, the east wing of the castle was rebuilt by the van Drebber family, which is today's residential building. The Renaissance archway built in 1617 survived this fire unscathed. The inscription “TIMENTI DOMINUM NON DEERIT ULLUM BONUM” means “Whoever fears the Lord will not lack anything good.”

The beautiful grounds of the old manor house are home to a friendly farm dog. Access will be somewhat difficult in spring 2025 due to road construction. However, it's worth taking a tour of the estate.
